今日は何と車イスのガイドさんになりました！
案内したのは、オーストラリアから来たKwan夫妻。
私の大好きなメルボルンから来日。
奥様のHueさんは車イスユーザー（写真左）ということで、車イスで楽しめるところを♪
と、事前にいろいろ考えていたのですが、台風の影響で大雨に（涙）
雨の中の移動の大変さ、面倒くささは誰よりも分かっているので、なるべく地上移動が少ないルートでご案内しました！
Today I became a wheelchair tour guide!
I gave Mr. and Mrs. Kwan a tour of Tokyo.
They are from Melbourne, Australia where I really love!!
Mrs. Kwan, Hue (the lady in the left side of the picture above) is a Moon Rider, so I was planning an itinerary where we can go by wheelchair…
but it was raining all day due to a typhoon.
That was too bad..tears.
I do know it is very troublesome to go out for Moon Riders like us in the rain,
so I changed the itinerary a little so that we don’t need to walk outside too long but we can still see interesting things and enjoy shopping etc.
まずは大江戸線「両国駅」にある江戸東京博物館。
ここは、エレベーター出口から博物館の入り口までずっと屋根があるのでレインコートなしで移動可能。
常設展示では日本の昔の町並みや道具、歴史などを知る事ができ、実際に触れたり写真を取れる場所が多くて外国人観光客にはもってこい。
英語でのガイドボランティアもいます。
１時間～２時間くらいゆっくり見れる場所なので案内するにはオススメですよ。
At first, I took them to “Edo Tokyo Museum” in Ryogoku station.
There is a long roof from the elevator of Ryogoku station (Oedo-line) to the entrance of the museum.
So you don’t need to wear a raincoat or bring an umbrella.:)
That’s good right?
You can learn many historical stories of Japan there.
There are some facilitations in the museum which you can even touch the old tools and take pictures with them.
There are also volunteer guide, who can speak English, helping foreign visitors out.
It takes 1 or 2 hours to see everything and it is a nice place to visit for foreign visitors.
施設内はもちろんバリアフリー。
車イス用お手洗いもあります。
海外の人でも障害者手帳のような証明できるものがあれば本人と介護者２名まで無料で入れます。
（今回Hueさんは障害者手帳のようなものをお持ちではなかったのですが、車イス利用とのことで無料で入れていただけました。
国によって同様のものが無いという所もあると思いますのでスタッフと交渉してみてください！）
ランチは同博物館内の和食レストランでいただきました。
日本らしいものが食べられて、通路も広いので車イスでも入りやすい。
英語のメニューもあります。
お手洗いも同じフロアにあって便利なのです。
This museum is wheelchair accessible.
They have elevators and bathrooms for wheelchair users.
If you bring something like an official certification issued in your home country to prove that you are a handicapped,
you can get in the museum for free and you can bring 2 other guests going with you for free!
Please talk to staffs at the ticketing desk for more information.
They are happy to assist you.
We had Japanese style lunch in the museum.
It is also a good place for foreign moon riders.
Easy access by wheelchair and big bathroom on the same floor.
The restaurant has a English menu too.
博物館を出たあとは、押上のソラマチへ。
ここも駅に直結しているショッピングモールなので車イスには嬉しいところ。
ちなみに押上までの移動は、大江戸線「両国駅」→「清澄白河駅」でメトロ半蔵門線乗り換え→「押上駅」というコース。
路線図で見ると「蔵前駅」で乗り換えた方が早いのですが、
この駅は地上乗り換えでエレベーターの出入口まで５分くらい歩く必要があり、雨の日は避けた方が良いです。
こういうのは自分自身が車イスユーザーだからこそ知っている情報だと思います（笑）
ソラマチでは３時間ほどショッピング。
家族へのお土産などなど一緒に見てまわりました。
人が多くて少し動きにくそうでしたが、特に不便な所は無く案内ができました。
晴れてたらスカイツリーも見せたかったのですが…残念！！
After the museum, we went to Soramachi, a shopping mall, in Oshiage station.
The shopping mall is connected with the station, which is very convenient to wheelchair users.
We traveled from Ryogoku Station, transferred at Kiyosumishirakawa Station to Tokyo Metro Honzonmon Line and got off at Oshiage Station.
From the looks of the map, the route is shorter if we transferred at Kuramae Station.
However, what the map is not telling you is that Kurame Station is not connected with other lines so we needed to get out of the station and walk to other lines, which we want to transfer to.
It is troublesome to transfer at Kuramae Station in rainy days.
Not a lot of people pay attention to this kind of detail besides Moon Riders like me.
We did some shopping at Soramachi for 3 hours.
Mr. and Mrs. Kwan were picking souvenirs for their family.
It was crowded and difficult to move around at Soramachi but it works out for all of us.
It would have been better if it was a sunny day then we can check out the Tokyo Skytree.
もともと銀座や浜離宮など日本らしいところを案内予定だったのですが、雨だと車イスで観光できる場所は限られるなと実感。
うーーーむ。
江戸東京博物館のように駅からずっと屋根があって雨に濡れずにアクセスできる施設がもっとあればなぁ。
旅行者にとって、毎回タクシー移動はお金がかかるし、なるべく公共交通機関で移動したいですよね。
でも、その公共交通機関は車イスユーザーにとって「凄く便利」とは言えない状況。
東京には良いところが沢山あるのに天候のせいで行けなくなるのは非常に残念な事です。
Anyway, Kwan夫妻はとても素敵なcuteな方々で、今日一日いっしょに素晴らしい時間を過ごせました。
これからまたこういう機会があるかも知れないので、英語の勉強と車イスでの観光ルート開拓を頑張ります！笑
I was planning to show Mr. and Mrs. Kwan Ginza and Hamarikyu Park today but the rain has ruined the plan.
I was convinced again that the rain is one of the limitations stopping Moon Riders from traveling.
I hope more tourist spots can be improved and built like how Edo Tokyo Museum was built.
We didn’t have to get wet in rainy days from walking from the station to the museum.
Traveling via taxi is very expensive.
Most people, especially tourists, want to travel via trains.
However, the accessibility at train stations is still far away from good.
There are a lot of great tourist spots in Tokyo but the they are not so accessible in bad weather.
It is really a shame.
Anyway, Mr. and Mrs. Kwan are super nice and cute couple.
I had a great time with them.
I am not sure if I will have another chance like this, showing foreign visitors around in Tokyo.
I am going to study more about English and getting around with wheelchair so I will be ready when a chance like this comes again. 🙂
