Today is the 10th Big Smile Gathering* and also our first online Big Smile Gathering.
When Mizuki first started Big Smile Gathering, it was an English conversation session for her friends in Japan to practice English.
Because Mizuki moved to the U.S. this month, we have changed the way to hold this event.
We have utilized the modern communication technology and hosted this event on Google Hangouts.
It turns out awesome!
Thanks to well developed Internet infrastructures and hardwares, we are able to hear and see each very clearly despite we are located at different corners around the world.
This time our guests are:
- An E-commerce expert who is promoting health diet and supplement in Japan.
- A graduate student who studies rehabilitation counseling in the U.S.
We have talked about:
- What rehabilitation counsellor is?
Rehabilitation counsellor helps people with physical or/and mental disability to live independently and helps them to manage their difficulties in professional life and personal life.
- Public transportation in the States, Canada and in Japan
Public transportation accessibility may vary quiet dramatically based on where you live.
Our guests this time have lived in Taiwan, Japan, USA and in Canada.
Generally speaking, buses in the states are more accessible for wheelchair users. They are often equipped with a ramp.
We have also exchanged many other ideas and shared our experiences.
I am not able to put all of them down on words.
