Really? ~Part 2~"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">** <a href=\"https:\/\/moonrider7.com\/2016\/03\/21\/how-human-resource-agency-value-people-with-disabilities\/\" target=\"_blank\">Click here for Part I <\/a>**<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6994\" src=\"https:\/\/moonrider7.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Moon-Rider-HR-Agency-6-e1458569522420.jpg\" alt=\"Moon Rider HR Agency 6\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A couple days after I visited one of the agencies, <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">they emailed me and said \u201cWe have a good job post for you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> I was little excited and gave them a call, but the job post was a general admin work at a Japanese major airline company. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">What the agency offered me was totally different from what I requested them in the interview. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Moreover, an annual salary of the job was a million JPY (about 9,000 USD) lower than my current job. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">I wondered why the agency would even propose this job to me, and thought there must be a mistake.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">When I double-checked with the agency, the staff said,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThe company said that they can expand job tasks! Please negotiate about the salary during the interview!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Since the agency recommended so hard, I changed my mind and expected that the company would have a better offer at interview.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2026However, there was no update or change from the original information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">I also negotiated about salary after telling then my current annual salary, but the company just lost a word.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWhy did the agency introduce the job post\u2026?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">I had so many question marks in my head.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6968\" src=\"https:\/\/moonrider7.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Moon-Rider-HR-Agency-2-e1458497349895.jpg\" alt=\"Moon Rider HR Agency 2\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another agency had many connections with popular major companies. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Because of that, even one month after I requested a job, the agency told me, <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe company you chose is very popular, so we are still selecting applicants within the agency for introducing to the company.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I was surprised how slow they move. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Since I wanted to move to a next job soon, I started contacting companies directly at the same time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Then sooner I got a job offer which was my preferred field and position, plus higher salary. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I felt I could find a better job faster than the agency could. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6999\" src=\"https:\/\/moonrider7.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Moon-Rider-HR-Agency-12-e1458571816745.jpg\" alt=\"Moon Rider HR Agency 12\" width=\"350\" height=\"232\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Agencies introduce jobs which do not match the abilities and requests of applicants with disabilities. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Why is this happening?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is because the agencies would like to raise percentage of successful employment and get more money from companies by introducing job posts which applicants with disabilities can be easily accepted. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Not only for agency for employment of people with disabilities, but also general agency makes profit in this way. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Therefore I don\u2019t say the system itself is bad because those private agencies need to make profit to grow. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I also understand that is why agencies cannot focus only on what people with disabilities need, but little more focus on companies which look for applicants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">However, if agencies&#8217;s first priority is only matching low requirement jobs with the wrong applicants, are they really doing a good job as a middleman? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Are those agencies\u2019 clients happy about their service? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Can they expand the job market and create more win-win for both the society and commercial corporations? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Is what they are doing even healthy for the job market?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7000\" src=\"https:\/\/moonrider7.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Moon-Rider-HR-Agency-13-e1458571993953.jpeg\" alt=\"Moon Rider HR Agency 13\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In January, I was searching employment rate for people with disabilities in Japan, and reached to a consulting firm for employment of people with disabilities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the consulting firm, they give consulting service for companies and provide career seminar and training for people with disabilities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I was curious about the company\u2019s data and would like to know about CEO\u2019s observation about how many people with disabilities are having a hard time to find a good career, nevertheless they have certain education history and working experience, due to discrimination by companies or employment support agencies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I asked,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cAccording to your analysis and the trends you see through your business, how many people with disabilities do you think are struggling at finding a job? (Excerpt)\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Then, CEO replied me soon as follows.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe number should be close to zero, I personally think.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If people with disability really want to work, all of them will be hired easily. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">If they listen to the general public\u2019s opinion and lower their expectations, they can easily receive job offers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The reasons for people with disability cannot find a job may be due to their severity of disability. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Personally, I think the main reason why people with disabilities cannot find a job is that they aim too high. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">They are not being realistic. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">They are not serious at getting a job.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When I saw his reply, honestly, I doubted if my eyes are receiving the information correctly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> I was surprised at how this person, who work for employment of people with disabilities, has such<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>biased views towards people with disabilities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">\u201cYou can find a job if you narrow down your requests.\u201d <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This may be true not only for people with disabilities but also for people without disabilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> Everyone knows that. There might be some people who have too high expectations and not lower their requirements from a job. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">However, this may happen when people with disabilities&#8217;s abilities and skills are not evaluated equally from the beginning. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">People should have high expectation of themselves and their jobs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Their jobs are so important and may have a great impact on their lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The CEO sounds like, <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">\u201cPeople with disabilities should be quite and compromise their expectations and abilities to take whatever is available to them in the job market.\u201d <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I feel the CEO completely look down people with disabilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> If middleman companies keep looking down people with disabilities, we cannot get out from the old stereo type image of people with disabilities, which are a group of people only live on social welfare and contribute less to the society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6995\" src=\"https:\/\/moonrider7.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Moon-Rider-HR-Agency-10-e1458571195443.jpeg\" alt=\"Moon Rider HR Agency 10\" width=\"350\" height=\"232\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I totally understand those middleman companies are doing business to make money. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">However, they should value \u201cpeople\u201d more. People play essential roles in their business. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">People with disabilities are people too. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I don\u2019t believe the ideal employment is something that people with disabilities needs to give up what they need and what they want to receive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The agencies\u2019 job and mission should be much more than matching low requirement jobs with people with disabilities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">They really should not label people with disability and limit them to certain jobs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6998\" src=\"https:\/\/moonrider7.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Moon-Rider-HR-Agency-11-e1458571325932.jpg\" alt=\"Moon Rider HR Agency 11\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Their mission should be encouraging more people with disability to take challenges to get closer to their dreams. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Their job should be listening to the applicants and make proposals based on the applicants\u2019 requests. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">They should help companies find a competent applicant instead of any person as long as he or she has disability. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Are not these what a real agency should do?<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In addition to human resource agency, more companies started new business based on employment for people with disabilities, for example consulting firm. They look like they are doing great business while supporting people with disabilities. However, some companies view people with disabilities with old bias and stereotype. How can these consulting firms and human resource agents utilize the talents of people with disabilities with such bias?
