\u201cFalling in love is a feeling, but loving someone is a choice.\u201d Jeff said, and Mizuki nodded with smile.<\/span><\/p>\n

They look like twins who share similar thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jeff from Taiwan and Mizuki from Kyoto met in the U.S. where they went to college 8 years ago. <\/span><\/p>\n

After a long distance relationship across the pacific ocean\u00a0 for 4 years, they finally got married this April.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cActually, Jeff broke up with me once soon after he went back to Taiwan.\u201d <\/span>Mizuki said. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was so surprised and went to Taiwan to see him. <\/span><\/p>\n

He told me the long distance was too difficult to manage. <\/span><\/p>\n

Then we decided to continue this relationship as friends.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At that time, Jeff actually had other worries hidden in his mind. <\/span><\/p>\n

He thought \u201cTaiwan\u2019s barrier free infrastructure hasn\u2019t developed enough for wheelchair users. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to ask Mizuki to come to Taiwan.<\/span><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think I can make her happy in Taiwan. <\/span><\/p>\n

I should let her go. <\/span><\/p>\n

I am sure a good person will show up for her soon.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

1 year later, Jeff finished his military service. <\/span><\/p>\n

Jeff and Mizuki had kept their feelings for each other and decided to be in a long distance relationship again. <\/span><\/p>\n

In 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred. <\/span><\/p>\n

The sad news of the earthquake filled all major newspaper deadlines and news channels and completely distracted Jeff to focus on work. <\/span><\/p>\n

Not long after the earthquake, Jeff decided to move to Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mizuki shared another story with us. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was hospitalized last spring, he came to see me every single day after his work. <\/span><\/p>\n

I realized \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t think I can have a complete life without him\u2019 We can overcome any obstacles as long as we are with each other. <\/span><\/p>\n
