My father is Korean and my mother is Japanese. <\/span><\/p>\n

So I am double (not “half”) with Korea and Japan. <\/span><\/p>\n

In Kyoto where I grew up, I have some “double” friends like me in class at school. <\/span><\/p>\n

So I didn’t really try to hide. I wasn’t bullied due to this either, so I’m very proud of my background.<\/span><\/p>\n

The top picture is 8 month old me. \u00a0<\/span>I’m wearing Korean traditional cloth called “chima jeogori”. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sometime, some “Japanese people” ask me, <\/span><\/p>\n

“Did your parents say anything about dating with Taiwanese guy?”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

I always reply, <\/span><\/p>\n

“My parents also got international marriage between Japan and Korea. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Therefore our family doesn’t think his nationality as an important point.” <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The important thing is what kind of person he is, not his nationality. <\/span><\/p>\n

My parents know about this more than I do. <\/span><\/p>\n

Only Japanese people ask me this kind of questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

All friends I met in US had various backgrounds. <\/span><\/p>\n

Many of them were mixed with 5 to 6 countries in their family histories. <\/span><\/p>\n

My American host family’s background is Ireland, and my Australian family is Scotland actually. <\/span><\/p>\n

Even people live in the same county, their appearance and life style differ from each other if background is different. <\/span><\/p>\n

It’s very interesting!<\/span><\/p>\n

If Jeff and I have a baby, he\/she will be triple, Taiwan\/Japan\/Korea. <\/span><\/p>\n

And I am hoping that my kid will have international relationship as well to see the wider world. <\/span><\/p>\n

Then after my retirement, I will go around the world to see my kids and grandkids. hehehe<\/span><\/p>\n

Please cheer couples in international relationship! <\/span><\/p>\n
