Jeff and I watched an old Japanese drama, “Beautiful Life” last weekend. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I think this drama was released more than 10 years ago. <\/span><\/p>\n

I was a junior high school student at that time, and just thought “if I date with someone, my life will be like this…?” <\/span><\/p>\n

But this time I felt so many things, because I’m also dating with non-disabled guy now.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The thing I felt the most in the drama was that I am so glad that we could meet each other in US. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the drama, most of restaurant, cafe, and live house etc. where the hero and heroine tried to go \u00a0have stairs. <\/span><\/p>\n

It really shows that “the life in wheelchair is so hard.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

When I started dating with Jeff in US, I have never experienced that kind of difficulties. <\/span><\/p>\n

I asked Jeff about this, and he said he didn’t feel difficulties either. <\/span><\/p>\n

We could go out and have fun like other regular couples.<\/p>\n

The town we lived in was really small and countryside, and we both didn’t have a car, so we always went out to the restaurant, cafes, movie theater, or park near our campus.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In US, even a small store is a wheelchair accessible. <\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, I had never checked the information of place I was going in advance. <\/span><\/p>\n

If we wanna go to the big city, we always asked our friend to give a ride.<\/span><\/p>\n

I’ve never experienced that I couldn’t enter a store or use bathroom due to my wheelchair in other states either.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

In Japan, I always need to check the information of place in advance. <\/span><\/p>\n

(Taiwan is more inconvenient for Moon Rider. So I always check too.) <\/span><\/p>\n

Although I wanna go to somewhere new, I tend to go somewhere I have been to and know that it’s wheelchair friendly place. <\/span><\/p>\n

Most of new commercial facilities are wheelchair accessible, but I still need to check the information of the facility (elevator etc.) of the closest station to the place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

I wish someday I could go anywhere at anytime without checking the information in advance. <\/span><\/p>\n

That’s what I really thought from the drama. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
