Yes, my mother is very amazing\u2026well I would say she is very strong.<\/span><\/p>\n

I started using a wheelchair when I entered elementary school. <\/span><\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t have any issues to use the wheelchair by junior high school. <\/span><\/p>\n

However the high school I got accepted was located in the middle of mountain. <\/span><\/p>\n

There was a long steep up-hill from my home to the high school.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My mother went to the city hall to apply for the aid to purchase a power wheelchair because she thought I wouldn\u2019t be able to go to school by using my manual wheelchair.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the staff of city hall said,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Your daughter doesn\u2019t have any disabilities on her upper body, right?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The aid of power wheelchair is available only for people with upper body disabilities. So your daughter cannot apply for this.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The staff was right. <\/span><\/p>\n

A power wheelchair is for someone who cannot control a manual wheelchair by their hands. According to the rule, they cannot provide the aid for me.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, my mother replied,<\/span><\/p>\n

My daughter doesn’t have any disabilities on her upper body.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But, she won\u2019t be able to go up hill by her manual wheelchair.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I cannot give her a ride everyday either.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you say that she cannot apply for the aid, you really mean \u00a0“DO NOT GO TO THE HIGH SCHOOL”, right?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The staff was upset and run to talk to her boss. <\/span><\/p>\n

Eventually, I could apply for the aid and got a power wheelchair.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If I couldn\u2019t get the power wheelchair, I couldn\u2019t go to the high school. <\/span><\/p>\n

I wouldn\u2019t have experienced to go to Australia as a field trip, and wouldn’t study in the US afterwards. <\/span><\/p>\n

I wouldn\u2019t have opportunities to work in Tokyo, and never ever have a chance to come back in the US.<\/span><\/p>\n

What my mother has done guided me to here.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would say, I am not an amazing person.<\/span><\/p>\n
