When taking a train by myself, I always ask a station staff to bring a ramp to get in the train. <\/span><\/p>\n

I really appreciate station staffs’ hospitality. <\/span><\/p>\n

But I don’t like that some station staffs go behind me to try to push my wheelchair without asking me anything.<\/span><\/p>\n

In my daily life, I barely ask someone (even family and close friends) to help to push my wheelchair. <\/span><\/p>\n

Well, I will ask when I need to go up a huge step. <\/span><\/p>\n

However I didn’t ask for help when going up-hill even in San Francisco.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My friend just walked next to me then. Now you know I’m strong enough.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Wheelchair users” are NOT ALWAYS “people who need a help all the time.<\/span><\/p>\n

” Many moon riders who use a manual wheelchair have enough strength to go around by themselves, especially on the flat ground. <\/span><\/p>\n

Elder people in wheelchair would be happy to be helped, but I am still young. <\/span><\/p>\n

Please ask “do you need a help to push your wheelchair?” before trying to push. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you ask this at first, we (moon riders) will be happy because we can tell you the most comfortable way at that time.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
