We have many cloudy days in Syracuse. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u00a0 rains often here, too. <\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m too lazy to wear a raincoat, so I just go out in rain without wearing it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The other day, when I was waiting at a bus stop in the light rain, suddenly an international student from China talked to me.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My friend has an umbrella. Please use mine!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She said and handed out her folding umbrella towards me.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The bus in Syracuse usually do not come on time, not like the ones in Japan. <\/span><\/p>\n

There is no roof at the bus stop, which means I get wet while waiting for a bus in the rain.<\/span><\/p>\n

I was very impressed by her warm heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On another rainy day.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was running from my office to the bus stop in the rain.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When I got closer to the bus stop, about 50m away, I noticed someone speaking Chinese from my back. <\/span><\/p>\n

The voice was getting louder, so I looked back. <\/span><\/p>\n

Then, again, another international student from China was talking to me and handing out his umbrella towards me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Student:\u00a0 (Speaking Chinese)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Me: \u201cAh\u2026I\u2019m going to that bus stop.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Student: \u201cThe bus will come to this bus stop too.\u201d\u00a0 *There are 2 bus stops.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Me: \u201cBut I always take the bus from that bus stop, so\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Student: \u201dI heard from police that there was a car accident, and the bus cannot park over there. You should go to this bus stop.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Me: \u201cOh, really?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Student: \u201cThe bus will come anytime soon. Let\u2019s go. I can help you with the up-hill.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He used his umbrella to cover me and pushed my wheelchair to go up-hill.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to him, I didn\u2019t get very wet.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was thinking to say \u201cthank you\u201d again to him. <\/span><\/p>\n

When I got off the bus, I found him getting off the bus too. <\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, he lives in the same building as I do!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThank you! You helped me so much!\u201d I said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou are welcome\u201d He replied with a shy smile.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I usually take the bus at the same time from the same bus stop. <\/span><\/p>\n

I think he saw me waiting for a bus at the bus stop before. <\/span><\/p>\n

On that rainy day, he found me going to the bus stop where the bus wouldn\u2019t stop by, so he came to tell me \u201cYou shouldn\u2019t go to that bus stop today\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m simply amazed by a person who can immediately help a stranger in trouble. <\/span><\/p>\n

Because we need courage to do that, right? I don\u2019t know if I can do the same thing to a stranger.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It has been 1 month since I came to Syracuse. <\/span><\/p>\n
