Hi, it\u2019s Mizuki.<\/span><\/p>\n

I started researching at Burton Blatt Institute (BBI) from this week officially.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although I use the word, \u201cresearch\u201d, I am totally a beginner in the field of research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The major I pursued in University of Wisconsin is NOT the same as the one I am going to research <\/span>this time.<\/span><\/p>\n

What can I accomplish in 1 year?It seems long but I feel it is going to be very short.<\/span><\/p>\n

I cannot conclude in my head, so I spend more time on getting advices from other professors and researchers recently.<\/span><\/p>\n

I think I should not stay quiet when I don\u2019t know how to explain my thoughts clearly.<\/span><\/p>\n

If I have something I want to know, it\u2019s really important to try to explain even with poor choice of words.<\/span><\/p>\n

If I am undergraduate student, I go to classes at the scheduled time, take tests, get scores, get credits, and graduate = receive a degree (GOAL).<\/span><\/p>\n

However, being a researcher is totally different.<\/span><\/p>\n

Set a topic and goal, and manage time and schedule by myself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I manage myself.<\/span><\/p>\n

That means I cannot move to a next stage without asking questions I want to know.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has been 6 years since I left Wisconsin, so my English is not as good as before.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I shouldn\u2019t be shy , and should talk to as many people as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

I believe I can figure something out soon!!<\/span><\/p>\n
