We are having our first wedding anniversary on April 12th today. <\/span><\/p>\n

Our original plan was not to celebrate it since I am doing my research in the U.S. and Jeff is working in Japan. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, in the end we decided to manage to get together and celebrate it in Boston.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

It has been 6 months since I last saw Jeff in person. <\/span><\/p>\n

Although we have been talking on FaceTime everyday but it is never the same compared to meeting in person. <\/span><\/p>\n

I was a little nervous when I first saw him at the airport but I soon picked up the feeling of being with him. <\/span><\/p>\n

Seeing Jeff in person again reminds me of his thoughtful and kind heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

I do not regret moving to the U.S. alone for my research but I feel bad that I left Jeff in Japan alone. <\/span><\/p>\n

It hurts me very much when I think about leaving him again this Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n

This complicated feeling has been hunting me this week. <\/span><\/p>\n

Although we have been in a long distance relationship for 4 years but this is the first time that I feel so sad to be separate from him. <\/span><\/p>\n

This pain helps me to recognize the importance of Jeff in my life.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Maybe I should end my research earlier than planned and go home early” I said sometimes when I miss home. <\/span><\/p>\n

Jeff replied saying “No. This may be your only chance to take a break in life and research on something you are really interested in. You should stick to it until the very last minute.”<\/span><\/p>\n

There are 6 other months before my research ends. <\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to Jeff, I am able to regain my determination and carry on this research. <\/span><\/p>\n

I have also decided to stay close with Jeff after I return to Japan. This is our first wedding anniversary.<\/span><\/p>\n
