Jeff and I have been dating for 7 years.
It has been 3 years since Jeff moved to Japan.
His Japanese has got really good now.
90% of our daily verbal conversations are in Japanese.
Jeff was unable to speak Japanese at all and I was unable to speak English when we first met in the States.
No matter what Jeff said to me in English I always replied to him in Japanese.
It turns out his Japanese has got really good after 7 years. Haha.
We speak in Japanese but we text each other in English.
I am still able to type in English! LOL.

Typing in English is just much faster than typing in Japanese.
It is also easier for us to share our thought in written English.
I wish we can speak in English but I just got too shy when talking to Jeff in English.
I have started learning Chinese every now and then in the past 3 years.
I started from learning Chinese vocabularies and phrases that are commonly used in daily life and they come to handy in daily life conversations.
Although, I am still a beginner in Chinese and make mistakes while using Chinese, Jeff is very happy and impressed when I speak in Chinese.
After all, Chinese is his mother tongue. I want to study more!
