昨日はジェフが開催する”TED Talks Challenge”に参加しました。
事前にディスカッションで使いたいTED Talkを探していたのですが、こんな面白いものを発見！

リサーチによると、何か達成したい目標があったとき、それを周りの人に”言わない”方が達成される可能性が高いらしいのです。
人に話してしまうしまうと、何となくその目標に一歩近づいた感じがして途中で止めてしまう可能性も高いとのこと。
私はこれまで何か目標があったときは、周りの人に”言った方が良い”とよく聞きました。
その思いがどんどん広がって、最終的に目標が達成できると。うーむ。
昨日のTED Talks Challengeでも参加者の意見を聞きましたが、結局、どっちが効果的かは目標の内容だったり、その人の性格によるんじゃないかなと私はまとめました。
例えば、ダイエットなど自分に厳しく取り組んで達成するものは、人に言わない方が私は達成しやすいです。
でも、人の力を借りて「XXXさんに会ってみたい」などの目標（夢？）であれば、どんどん人に言った方が叶いやすいのではと考えました。
皆さんはどっちの方が目的が達成しやすいと思いますか？？

Yesterday, I participated in a workshop, called “TED Talks Challenge” organized by Jeff.
It is a workshop where attendees find the TED Talks they would like to discuss with and share with other attendees.
I found an interesting talk:

According to a research, if you have a goal you want to achieve, it is better not to tell anyone.
By telling someone, you would feel you are one step closer to the goal and may give up more easily in the process.
Before watching this TED talk, I have heard the completely opposite idea.
If you have a goal you want to achieve, it’s better to say it out loud.
My goal will be pass around people and eventually the dream comes true. Hmmm…which one is correct?
I discussed about this with other attendees yesterday.
In the end, it depends on what kinds of goal or each one’s personality etc., and we cannot decide which one is really effective.
For example, I can do well to work on diet by not telling anyone, because I myself have to work hard.
However if I really want to meet a famous person, I would tell my friends because one of my friends might have a connection to make it happen!
Which idea do you think to work effectively?
